So how do you actually find a niche? You're not looking for a niche in your product, so what is it that will set you apart from everyone else? What will you do that will be different? What you want to devise is a marketing niche. A marketing niche, can be looked at in very simple terms. It is a distinct segment of the market, having specific appeal. But why not market to anyone and everyone, you might ask (thinking that 'this' could be your niche). Be wary of painting broad strokes. You might be inefficient in your production. If you want the best returns for your efforts, you want to concentrate your focus. You can invent your niche by connecting the interests of a targeted group to a specific product. How do you determine what group to pursue? Much like article marketing and content creation, you want to look at the lowest common denominator - what you know. What do you feel are your own specific interests? What do you think you have exceptional knowledge in? What advice/information could you offer someone? Can you relate that to the offers? Finding your own marketing niche is a strategic way to direct your efforts efficiently. You're knowledgebase and objective marketing will give you the inside edge to your group. Being able to find common ground and communicating with them in their language gets you all that much closer. Perhaps you are proficient in quilting circles, college students, new parents, electronic enthusiasts, shop-aholics, book clubbers, etc. Whatever the case is, having something to aim for will keep you focused and allow you to evaluate your success. Maybe scrapbookers will turn out to be the best referrals! Remember to make the connection between your group and your offers. |
