Getting Started with Affiliate Marketing
So you’ve joined an affiliate program and logged into your account, now what?
A great way to quickly get started and add value to your site is to do a little research on whatever it is that you are trying to sell. What you want to try to achieve is an expert status among your visitors and your competition. Once you have done your due diligence on the products or services you wish to promote, you can build a comparison chart to show the pros and cons of each product or service and create “buy now” links using your affiliate links from the affiliate program you joined.
By building a comparison chart you establish a one page resource that your visitors can quickly scan to find the best possible prices, ratings, and features for the products or services you are promoting.
Marketing this comparison chart is the fun part. The comparison chart can serve as a “review” that can boost the integrity and trustworthiness of your site. Imagine creating the “2006 Widget Review” and submitting press releases to all of the free press release services available and creating a series of blog entries explaining how, where and who put the review together. A great way to add credibility to the press release is to contact the CEO or high level management of the company that you are promoting and get a quote. All you have to say is “Our company has awarded you with the highest rating in our 2006 Widget Review, can I get a quote for a press release?” Most companies will instantly see the positive nature of your request and willingly give you a quote for use in your press release.
Hopefully this will spark some ideas on how you can create a comparison chart of products to increase your site’s value.
